Passing The Bar

Just like my difficulty in finding an adjective for the taste of green mango with bagoong (shrimp paste), I could not think of a single English word that can best describe the feeling about passing the bar exams. Even the bar passers themselves cannot express in one word how the feeling like but they are in unison in saying that it’s a mixed feelings of relief and joy. Based on comments I read in several blawgs tackling the subject, it’s more than that. I would like to believe that such feeling is more intense than any other emotional perceptions. No, it’s not the feeling that’s told in the song “Top of the World”. It’s similar to a sublime feeling. I can feel that the feeling about passing the Bar is a poignant emotion of victory of faith and the spirit.

Lito, indeed, it's difficult to describe, much more difficult that the taste of green mango with bagoong. =) If there are words to choose from, however, I believe "relief" should be one of those. Perhaps you could revisit this post when you pass the bar exams a few years from now.

Straight from the horse’s mouth, “relief” is indeed a fitting adjective. Thanks for dropping by Atty. Fred.
